Flaherty, réitère les promesses électorales annoncées par le Parti conservateur, notamment; une baisse de 1% de la TPS, une allocation de 1200$ aux parents d’enfant âgé de six ans ou moins, un crédit d’impôt aux usagers, une hausse du seuil d'imposition des petites et moyennes entreprises de 300 000 $ à 400 000 $ avec une réduction du taux d'imposition de 12 % à 11 % d'ici cinq ans. With all the speculation in the lead up to the May 2 Budget, we have to say that we remained highly sceptical that the Conservatives would deliver much more than the minimum when it came to matching election promises with budget-making reality. We never doubted that the GST cut would appear and we never doubted that the $100 a month child care payment would be a key part. But we had serious doubts as to whether many of the more minor promises would be enacted at once, both because they were in a way peripheral and because we had serious doubts as to how they would be drafted. We were wrong in most cases, though what comes out when we see actual legislation may still create administrative problems.

Conservative Government Comes Through for Charities - Adam Aptowitzer
The Conservative government has come through in a big way for registered charities and those that depend on them. In fulfilling their campaign promise to eliminate the capital gains tax on donations of publicly listed shares to public charities, the government has increased the benefit of the donation to the donor by 25% of the applicable tax rate in each province.
